Description
Kent Air Ambulance Trust is the charity which operates the only Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) and Air Ambulance in the county of Kent.
The charity was set up in 1989 and was then only the second Air Ambulance in the country. There are now 16 Air Ambulance charities in England and Wales all having to fundraise between £1 - £3 million in order to keep the life saving helicopters flying.
From it's base in Marden and flying at speeds of up to 150mph, the Kent Air Ambulance can reach any part of Kent within 15 minutes flying time. And wherever the helicpter lands in the county it is never more than 7 minutes away from a receiving A&E Hospital.
