- Computer Aided Management Systems, Inc. (CAMS) started business in 1987 as a custom hardware and programming company. The founder Paul Van Geel gained an interest in programming in 1984 when he found that many of the computer firms did not understand how a business worked. To get what was needed for his business he had to do it himself and found that he enjoyed it. With the experience he acquired from owning a retail store and photography studio, and working in inventory control at another company, he started PVG & Associates which soon became Computer Aided Management Systems, Inc.
